DaaS Interview - Eric Pulier, Desktone Founder

I am pleased to announce that we recently completed the recording of our first DaaS interview.  For the maiden session, I had the pleasure of interviewing Eric Pulier, founder of Desktone and a serial entrepreneur who has started technology and media-related companies such as SOA Software, US Interactive and IVT.  In about 15 minutes, we discuss the genesis and future of Desktone, including:

  • Market factors that led Eric to believe there was a great opportunity for a company like Desktone
  • The connection between service-oriented architecture (SOA), the latest generation of virtualization technologies and Desktone’s Desktops as a Service (DaaS) offering
  • Why Eric wanted Harry Ruda and Paul Gaffney (CEO and COO, respectively) at the helm of Desktone
  • Desktone’s short-term and longer-term impacts, including total cost of ownership (TCO) and user experience benefits, and the implications for Fortune 500 companies, academia, health care and even developing nations

There are a number of options for playing/reading the interview.  You can either launch the multimedia version (Flash video format which includes slides and audio) or listen the audio only version.  You can also download a copy of the complete transcript.  Enjoy!
